So I know some of you have been dreading this day, some of you are boycotting this day, and others are busy with gifts, cards, and time with their significant others. Well, to every single one of you, I’d like to say Happy Valentine’s Day! Because 2000 years ago, God gave the most incredible gift to all of us to show His love: His son died on a cross so that He could call us His children (see the attached video if you wanna hear more about how much He loves you). Single or taken, you are loved with a perfect, unfailing, unchanging, unconditional love. That’s like drinking cold water on a hot day, (actually hot chocolate on a cold day might be more relevant to us).  Either way, I think everyone should taste that hot chocolate.
There’s a quote from World Vision that says, “It’s easy to get lost in dreams of being half way across the world loving people and forget people right in front of us.” My last email was about the billions of people in the world who need love and asking God how you can help with that. Look around. Think about the people closest to you, or the people who you would never think to talk to or care about, the people around you at school, home, work, on the bus. The people you can reach out and touch: They need love too.  And, you don’t even need money or gifts because sometimes, all people really need is someone to give them the time of day, someone to stop and listen to them. So, whether you’re single or taken, remember first that Jesus loved you enough to die for you and for anyone who believes in Him, remember how much you need to experience that love every day, and think about how that’s probably most likely definitely the same for every single person in existence.
So, beloved: Be Loved, and Be Love.
“We love because He first loved us.” 1 John 4:9
